Nearby Nature: Bird Nests

We had a great time learning about how different birds build different kinds of nests. We matched birds to their nests, sketched some nests and designed our own nests strong enough to hold a little treat!

The Marshmallow Challenge

We combined a little engineering with our study of 3D shapes in the marshmallow challenge. Students built 2D and 3D shapes before attempting to build the tallest structure possible with 20 marshmallows and 25 toothpicks!  So much fun!
