Claire is an invaluable member of our team! She is so incredible in every way. She helps support kids academically, socially and emotionally all day, every day. She is a gift!
About once a month she prepares a seasonal art project for our class. On Friday they created winter diorama scenes. It was a perfect way to end our special cat coin day!

Math: Data Collection
We had a sweet time in math this week! With a bag of M&M's, partners made predictions (How many M&M's in your bag?), collected data (How many of each color was in your bag?), displayed results (Created bar graphs.) and analyzed their data (Which color did you have the most? How many more reds than browns did you have?).
New Books!
Thanks to an abundance of Scholastic Book Order points, I was able to purchase loads of new books for our classroom library! The kids were so excited! I am thrilled to see our class LOVING their independent reading time here at school. I am so proud of them all!!
Science: Properties of Matter
Last week we explored some of the properties of salt, sand, baking soda and cornstarch. Students identified the texture, if there were crystals, and what would happen if water or vinegar were added.
They recorded their findings on a science grid and then wrote about their wonderings in their science journal.

Nearby Nature: Snowflakes!
Thank you, Nearby Nature Moms for an awesome time learning about snowflakes last week! We watched a fun puppet show, sorted snowflakes and caught some incredible flakes outside! We learned that every flake is different, but they all contain a tiny particle of dust or pollution.
