Math Tools
In math students are exploring several tools to help develop number sense. We are using a number rack (pictured below), bead strings (which they are making in the photos) and a traditional number line.
Students compare and contrast the tools and then choose the one best suited for the problem they are solving. The goal is for them to be comfortable using them all and then choose the one that works best for them.
